# Google AI (Gemini)

> Bring your own Gemini API key: agents and orchestrations use your Google Cloud project and subscription whenever a Gemini model is selected.

**Connection type:** Credential

Connect your own Gemini API key to SubVerse. When an agent or orchestration uses a Gemini model, SubVerse sends the request with your key, so usage is billed to your Google Cloud project under your own limits and policies.

## What you can do

| Capability | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Use your own Gemini subscription** | Run Gemini models in agents and orchestrations on your Google Cloud project instead of SubVerse's. |
| **Cover every Gemini model** | Applies to all Gemini models SubVerse supports, including chat, embeddings, and live voice models. |
| **Keep control of usage** | Track spend, set limits, and restrict the key in your own Google Cloud project. |

## How it works

**Agent or orchestration** → **Gemini model selected** → **SubVerse** → **Your Google Cloud project**

Without a connection, SubVerse uses its own Gemini subscription and bills that usage to you through SubVerse.

## What you'll need

* A Google Cloud project with the Gemini API enabled
* A Gemini API key from that project

<Tip>
  See [Models](/models/overview) for the Gemini models available in SubVerse.
</Tip>

<Note>
  Step-by-step setup is in the SubVerse dashboard: go to **Integrations → Google AI (Gemini)** and open the **Documentation** tab.
