# Google Sheets

> Connect your Google Sheets so agents and workflows can read, add, and update rows.

**Connection type:** Credential

Connect Google Sheets to SubVerse. Agents can read rows to answer questions, and your Functions and Orchestrations can add and update them. A change in a sheet can also start an orchestration.

## What you can do

| Capability | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Read rows** | Let an agent look up information in a sheet, such as a price list, a schedule, or a stock level. |
| **Add and update rows** | Write to your sheets from Functions and Orchestrations, for example logging each conversation or updating a status. |
| **React to changes** | Start an orchestration when a sheet changes, such as a new row. |

## Credential types

| Credential type | Best for |
| - | - |
| **Google Sheets OAuth2 API** | Most connections. You sign in with your Google account and approve access. |
| **Google Sheets Service Account** | Access that doesn't depend on one person's account. You share each sheet with the service account. |
| **Google Sheets API Key** | Reading public sheets only. It can't read private sheets or write anything. |

## What you'll need

* A Google account with access to the spreadsheets you want to use
* A Google Cloud project, to create the credentials
* Permission to enable APIs and create credentials in that project

<Note>
Step-by-step setup is in the SubVerse dashboard: go to **Integrations → Google Sheet** and open the **Documentation** tab.
